Your afternoon begins in beautiful Black Diamond. Take in the local art at Bluerock Gallery and the incredible teak furniture and Indonesian crafts at Black Diamond Gallery. Afterwards, a short drive up the hill will take you to Hard Knox Brewery where you will have a private tour of the brewing operation and a chance to sample their many beers and ciders. The following morning, travel to Chinook Honey Company and Chinook Arch Meadery. Meet the bees, sample honey from near and far and try some locally made mead. After a lunch at the Heartland Café in downtown Okotoks, spend the afternoon at Lineham House Galleries on historic Elma Street. All things handmade are housed in a beautiful, 110 year old Registered Historic Alberta Resource home with several floors of Alberta art to delight and inspire. After an artist demonstration, take in all that downtown Okotoks has to offer on a self-guided walking and shopping tour curated by Foothills Tourism Association.

3:30PM Travel to Hard Knox Brewery

4:00PM - 5:00PM Tour and tasting at Hard Knox Brewery. The name Hard Knox™ was created to pay homage to how the area was built, from those that came out west along the Dusty Trail, to the Grunt Work those experienced in the coal mines and oilfields, to the farmers who work Sun Up to Sun Down. Hard Knox™ Brewery came to life in May of 2018, after two long years of planning and truly living a ‘hard knocks life’ to get the doors open. 10:00AM – 12:00PM Backstage with the Bees and Mead Tasting 
Honeybees are fascinating, and our knowledgeable guide will open up their amazing world to you. Learn how they live, work as a complex hive community and make that sweet golden honey we all love. Spy on them in our busy Observation Hive as you witness their intricate behavior. You’ll come away with a wealth of information to wow your friends with. A few steps away you’ll go behind the scenes at Chinook Arch Meadery where we craft 12 different varieties of Mead (honey wine). Learn about the history and making of mead before heading up to our private clubhouse for a mead tasting while soaking up the expansive Rocky Mountain view.

12:00PM travel to Heartland Cafe for lunch
For more than 23 years, Heartland Café has served creative signature dishes and innovative creations.  Its menu is a fresh interpretation of traditional, healthy and flavourful recipes derived from whole food cooking. The café uses high-quality ingredients without additives or preservatives. Its array of comfort food changes seasonally, in keeping with its dedication to using fresh ingredients.

1:30PM – 4:00PM Lineham House Galleries on Elma Street in Okotoks (artist demo) and free-range shopping downtown Okotoks.
