- Spend some time at a lake! Chain Lakes
Provincial Park is nestled in Willow Creek valley, between the Porcupine Hills and Rocky Mountains, about 90 minutes from Calgary. It gets its name from a reservoir created in 1967 to contain water for the agricultural industry in the area, which now boasts lake shore views and supports diverse wildlife (keep your eyes peeled for both pelicans and moose). In summer, you can fish, lounge at the beach, paddle, sail, powerboat, camp, and much more.
This is just a sampling of things to do during this August Long Weekend. Don’t forget to share your favourite spots, we love hearing from you as you #explorefoothills and hearing your #foothillsstory.
