Business and job title: Rocky Mountain Barrels-owners. We make items (small and large) from reclaimed whiskey and wine barrels.
A bit about you: We are small home based Okotoks business. We love creating new things. We spend our spare time with our two dogs and hiking in the mountains.
Best part of the job: Being able to create something new out of something used. Having the ability to be creative and come up with new ideas.
What do you love most about the Foothills: Being so close to the mountains. We feel very lucky to be able to wind down so close to where we live.
Tips for tourists: Check out all that the small towns have to offer. Everything from shopping to dining. You can check us out and all the other talented vendors at Maintstreet Market in Okotoks and Crafter's Corner in Black Diamond. And of course get out there and explore nature.
Funniest on the job story: We get asked a lot to make some unique items. We were asked to modify a barrel to be used for chickens. Their names were David Peckham and the Spice Girls.
